October 3, 2023 – We are saddened to advise of the passing of Gene Heesaker, a member of NCVA since 1946 and a longtime member of the Executive, on Sunday, September 24. Most recently, he held the position of Honorary Vice-Chairman for Life.
Gene worked tirelessly on behalf of veterans, through both NCVA and his own veterans' association, the Canadian Corps Association. He represented NCVA on numerous pilgrimages over the years, including visits to Vimy Ridge and Juno Beach.
