He was the driving force behind the <a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/member-groups\/#k\">KLB (Koncentration Lager Buchenwald) Club<\/a> after his imprisonment there with other airmen in 1944, and spoke often of his experiences as a prisoner of war.<\/p>\r\n      \r\n      <p>He was a staunch supporter of NCVA and an extremely expressive spokesman for the organizations he represented. We very much appreciated his incredible energy and enthusiasm for our various crusades on behalf of the veterans&#39; community.
